BALL SIZE
1.1. 10u and under, 28.5" (size 6) ball.
1.2. 11u and over, 29.5" (size 7) ball.
TEAMS
2.1. Each team consists of no more than 4 players(3 players on the court and 1 sub) and 1 coach.
FORMAT
3.1. Games will be played on a half-court.
3.2. There are no time-outs.
3.3. Games are 10 minutes long with a running clock.
3.4. Clear the arc on every change of possession (air ball, steal, etc). (2 feet over the arc)
3.5. If you don’t clear the arc and shoot; ball goes out of bounds to opposite team.
3.6. All dead balls will be taken out of bounds above the arc.
3.7. Ball must be taken out above the arc or it is considered an “invalid inbounding of the ball.”
BEGINNING OF THE GAME
4.1. A coin flip shall determine which team gets the first possession. Winner chooses to have the ball first or to leave it and receive the ball first in a potential OvertTime period.
SCORING
5.1. Every shot from inside the arc will be awarded 2 point.
5.2. Every shot from behind the arc will be awarded 3 points.
WINNING
6.1. The first team to score 21 points (and leading by 2pts) in regular time wins the game.
6.2. At the end of regular time, the team with the most points wins.
6.3. If the score is tied at the end of regular time, an overtime shall be played.
6.4. The first team to score 4 points in the overtime wins the game.
HOW THE BALL IS PLAYED
7.1. Following each successful field goal:
• Opposing team takes the ball out of bounds above the arc.
7.2. Following each unsuccessful field goal:
• If the offensive player rebounds the ball, they may continue to attempt to score without clearing the ball behind the arc.
• If the defensive player rebounds the ball, they must clear the ball behind the arc (by passing or dribbling).
7.3. If the defensive team steals or blocks the ball, they must clear the ball (by passing or dribbling).
7.4. Possession of the ball following any dead ball situation will resume behind the top of the arc.
7.5. A player is considered to be “behind the arc” when both feet across the arc line.
7.6. In a jump ball situation, possession will be given to the team at the top of the arc, according to the alternating possession arrow.
SUBSTITUTIONS
8.1. Substitutions may be made at any dead ball and after any made basket.
8.2. Players must enter and exit the game from next to the scoreboard on their team side when the ref signals for them. No substitutions in the last 30 seconds of the game unless for injured player.
NON-SHOOTING FOULS
9.1. Ball out of bounds to opposite team.
SHOOTING FOULS
10.1. Missed basket - Awarded the basket.
10.2. Made basket - Awarded the basket plus 1 point.
FOULS (BONUS)
11.1. A team is in a penalty situation after it has committed 6 fouls.
11.2. Fouls 7+ will award the other team 1 point.
11.3. Fouls 10+ will award the other team 2 points.
12.1. UNSPORTSMAN-LIKE CONDUCT OR TAUNTING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. It is the discretion of the referee to assess technical fouls (one point and ball to the same team) for taunting, flagrant fouls or any form of unsportsmanlike conduct (e.g., excessive fouling, intentional delay of game). Any player or coach receiving two technical fouls in a game is suspended for the remainder of the game and may be suspended for the remainder of the tournament.
STALLING
13.1. An offensive player shall not dribble with his back or side to the basket for more than 3 consecutive seconds, otherwise possession goes to the opponent.
